Steel I-Girder Formwork - Sri Lanka
THE PROJECT
Central Expressway Project (CEP) is a very important and huge project in Sri Lanka. It was divided into 4 stages:
Stage 1: Kadawatha (KM 0.0km) to Meerigama (KM 37.1)
Stage 2: Meerigama (KM 37.1) to Kurunegala (KM 76.8) and Ambepussa link road (KM 9.3)
Stage 3: Pothuhera (KM 0.0) to Galagedara (Kandy) (KM 32.5)
Stage 4: Kurunegala (KM 76.8) to Dambulla (KM 137.1)
A lot of bridges were using I-girders with different lengths/ types.

Period: Sep 2017 – Mar 2019
UTRACON'S INVOLVEMENT
1. Design & calculation fabrication drawings, working method statement
2. Fabrication of steel mould and accessories
3. Trial mock-up at the factory
4. Logistics to Client’s port
5. Support Client installation mock-up on site, technical support
